Some bags hold your phone, keys and the lipstick you’ve been looking for since last Thursday. Others feel like they already have a past - a summer in Italy, a questionable romance, or a habit of disappearing before morning. Naturally, those are the ones we like.

I paired five Lana Del Rey songs from five different eras with the vintage designer bags that belong inside their worlds, in my humble opinion

1. off to the races

Lana Del Rey, Born to Die (2012)

She is running late, overdressed and completely unconcerned. The night has already become a story she’ll tell differently depending on who asks. With distressed studs, whipstitched handles and just enough equestrian energy, the Silverado looks like it has somewhere much more interesting to be.

Lana Del Rey, Ultraviolence (2014)

Black leather, gold rings and the sort of romance everyone warned her about. The braided handle keeps things beautiful; the dark, pleated body suggests there may be more to the story. She knows better. She simply has other plans.

Lana Del Rey, Honeymoon (2015)

She packed for Italy as though she might never return. The sunglasses are enormous, lunch lasts three hours and somebody else is handling the itinerary. Tiny, polished and finished with a chunky gold chain, this Ferragamo carries exactly what the evening requires and nothing practical.

4. cherry

Lana Del Rey, Lust for Life (2017)

It begins with red lipstick and ends with several decisions she’ll defend forever. The shape is restrained, the leather is cherry red and the brass turn lock knows better than to reveal anything. Romantic, composed and one text away from becoming a problem.

Lana Del Rey (2026)

At first glance, she looks perfectly civilized. Then you notice the pony hair, the crackled leather and the sense that she may know something about the woods that you don’t. Deep maroon and beautifully worn in, this Miu Miu feels romantic, feral and just unsettling enough.
